Technical Plastic Parts

As a true sub-contractor Molytex has established itself as a high-performance partner to manufactures of technical plastic components on the international market. Plastic parts produced by Molytex are shipped to most parts of the world, and are used in applications such as pumps, filters, electronics, gears and industrial process equipment.

Supplying technical plastic components is a matter of combining plastic materials, mold design and production know-how in order to match a customers expectations. Molytex uses thermoplastic materials from polypropylene (PP) to polyether ether ketone (PEEK) with additives ranging from glass-, carbon, metal- and aramid-fibers, PTFE (Teflon) minerals, foaming agents, colors and processing agents.

Many plastic parts are used as food contact materials or used in the food industry which requires extra attention to how the plastic parts are handled and high levels of traceability regarding the raw materials.

With almost 60 years of experience in injection molding we find it natural to balance high performance materials, mold design and product properties to ensure the right product for the customer.

Molytex is certified in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 and 14001:2015.

Electronics

Today we find electronics enclosed in plastic cabinets and housings everywhere and its often hard to imagine our daily life without them. Plastic protects the delicate electric components but also gives the designer almost endless possibilities regarding shape, feel and looks.

Molytex manufacture enclosures and connectors for electronic components in PC/ABS, ASA, Polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) and Polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) all with a vide variety of additives ranging from fiber reinforcement, colors, flame retardants, heat- or UV-stabilizers.

Electronics often require inputs from either connectors or switches and its not uncommon to integrate these in the molding process. At Molytex we often do this in a 2K operation to obtain a chemical bond between the materials and a waterproof seal to protect the delicate electronic components.

Molytex produce enclosures and connectors for both consumer and industrial use and its common that our engineers participate in the design for manufacturing process (DFM) to ensure consistency between materials, mold design, production and product properties.

Medical

Few products are more challenging than products to the medical sector. Not only is it critical that the products perform under very demanding conditions, but they are also manufactured in special engineered compounds and with very small tolerances. It is not uncommon that it’s on the edge of what is physically possible.

Molytex has a long-proven history of manufacturing plastic parts to the medical industry. This includes filters, gear wheels and housings, but also special applications like fittings, washers and gasket holders. Many of the parts are manufactured in special grades approved and certified for the medical industry, and include materials like PP, POM, Noryl and PEEK with and without reinforcement.

Infrastructure

Strength and durability are key factors when manufacturing plastic parts for infrastructure applications. For more than 30 years, Molytex has produced fastening systems, damper pads and adjustment clips for railroad applications. With very narrow tolerances, these parts are on the boundaries of what is technical and physically possible.

It can have catastrophic consequences if the parts fail, which is why Molytex has designed a special quality scheme. Here the parts are measured continuously, and all the measurements are forwarded to the customers together with the raw material certificates and thus providing full traceability.

Molytex railroad parts are exported to most part of the world and are produced in PA6, PA6.6 and PA6.12, with various kinds of reinforcement like glass-, aramid- and carbon fibers.

Defense

Molytex has developed and manufactured high performance, military grade plastic components for more than 30 years.

Today Molytex deliver plastic parts to some of the largest manufactures of defense applications in Europe.

Examples on products are radar systems, ammunition control systems, guidance systems and gears and gear houses related to defense systems.

Delivering plastic parts to the defense industry often require solutions that go beyond the ordinary. Not only in terms of materials, but also mold design and final product properties. It is therefore not uncommon that Molytex engineers participate in the design process to ensure consistency between the many variables.
